weedle your needle to get extra beetles
Me: "Hi, so I ordered this Dermestid Beetle Skeletal Preparation kit from you guys, and everything was going well - they were having a party up in there for like five days, munching on that frog. I checked it out this morning, though, and it's like a ghost town in there. And there's a bunch of these curled up little larvae, I think they're either dead or in a food coma"
Science Company Lady: "Five days eh, it sounds like they molted. Those curled up larva are probably just their old skin".
Me: "ORLY? Where did they go? The tank looks empty"
Science Company Lady: "Did you check inside the frog"?
Me: "ew".
Science Company Lady: "Yeah. They're probably all in there, eating the good parts first. You know, the organs, fatty tissue, eyeballs".
Me: "I see".
Science Company Lady: "Yeah, just keep an eye on that, they should be emerging, eating their way from the inside out within a week or so. Is there anything else I can help you with today"?
Me: "Actually, yes. I'm concerned there's not enough beetles to consume the frog within two weeks. You see, I'm making a time-lapse video and I really need them to eat the whole thing to finish the film. It would be a shame if they all pupated into adults without finishing the frog first".
Science Company Lady: "You're making a video, you say"?
Me: "Why, yes. I'd be happy to send you a copy to use for promotional or educational purposes ..."
Science Company Lady: "That's delightful. I'd be happy to send you a batch of additional beetles at no extra cost, if you'd be willing to send us a copy of this film when you are done".
Me: "It would be my pleasure".
Science Company Lady: "Hooray for us".
